Flat parts

 

Planar parts refer to parts whose processing surface is parallel or perpendicular to the horizontal plane, and the included angle between the processing surface and the horizontal plane is a certain value. This type of processing surface can be expanded into a plane.

 

Among them, the curve profile surface is perpendicular to the horizontal plane and can be processed by a cylindrical end mill. The side b of the boss forms a certain angle with the horizontal plane, and this type of processing surface can be processed by a special angle-forming milling cutter. For slope c, when the size of the workpiece is not large, it can be processed with a swash plate; The residual traces of the blade should be removed with a pliers repair method.

Ruled surface parts

 

Ruled surface parts refer to surface parts produced by the movement of straight lines according to a certain law. As shown in Figure 4.2, the machined surface of the part is a ruled surface. When the ruled surface changes from section (1) to section (2), the angle between it and the horizontal plane changes uniformly from 3°10' to 2°32 ', and from section (2) to section (3), the uniform change is 1°20', and finally, to the section (4), the oblique angle uniformly changes to 0°. The machined surface of ruled surface parts cannot be developed into a plane.

 

When a four-coordinate or five-coordinate CNC milling machine is used to process ruled surface parts, the moment when the machining surface contacts the circumference of the milling cutter is a straight line. Such parts can also be approximated by row cutting on a three-coordinate CNC milling machine.

 

Solid surface parts

 

Parts whose machining surface is a space surface are called solid surface parts. The machined surface of such parts cannot be developed into a plane. Generally, a ball-end milling cutter is used for cutting. The machined surface and the milling cutter are always in point contact. If other tools are used for processing, it is easy to cause interference and milling damage to the adjacent surface. Three-coordinate CNC milling machines are generally used to process three-dimensional surface parts, and the following two processing methods are used.

 

Row cutting method

 

The three-coordinate CNC milling machine is used for two-axis semi-coordinate control processing, that is, the line cutting method. As shown in Figure 4.3, the ball-end milling cutter performs linear interpolation processing along the curve of the XY plane. When a curve is processed, it feeds ΔX in the X direction and then processes another adjacent curve, so that the plane curve is used to approximate it in turn. the entire surface. The distance ΔX between two adjacent curves should be selected according to the requirements of surface roughness and the radius of the ball end mill. The ball radius of the ball end milling cutter should be selected as large as possible to increase the rigidity of the tool, improve the heat dissipation, and reduce the surface roughness value. When machining concave arcs, the radius of the milling cutter ball must be smaller than the minimum radius of curvature of the surface to be machined.

 

Three-coordinate linkage machining

 

The three-axis CNC milling machine is used for three-axis linkage processing, that is, spatial linear interpolation is performed. Such as hemisphere, can be processed by the row cutting method or by the three-coordinate linkage method. At this time, the CNC milling machine uses the spatial linear interpolation of X, Y, and Z three-coordinate linkage to realize spherical machining.
